Alright, I've been a bit sniffy about Zack Snyder's movie adaptation of my favourite goddamn superhero comic ever in at least one previous post, but - I must admit - the new trailer does look rather tasty:

Hmm.
If it wasn't Watchmen by Zach Snyder, I might almost be convinced.
Yeah, just watched it again paying a bit more attention to the dialogue this time around. A couple of lines are now bothering me a bit:
"Watchmen... one of us died tonight"
and,
"Watchmen are over"
Now, this seems to imply - to me at least - that in Znyder's Watchmen, the characters are collectively known as The Watchmen. It's like 'X-Men', 'Metal Men', 'Watchmen'.
Which, of course, ain't so. It's been a while since I've read the book, but I have read it often. Watchmen refers to the Juvenal quote and the "controlling idea" of the story. IIRC, the word isn't even used in the story.
I'm probably getting pedantic and paranoid over some dialogue dubbed in for the trailer.
I'm also preaching to the converted again, aren't I? :)
